Puriri Heights WiltshireThe Wiltshire sheep breed can be documented as far back to the 18th century in Britain. However there is archaeological evidence that the Roman settlements in this region farmed a similar type of sheep. The Polled Wiltshire was developed in Australia using Polled Dorset Rams and Wiltshire Horn ewes.
The breed was introduced into New Zealand in 1972 and is now gaining popularity as a high yielding meat breed with minimal labour and animal health intervention. |
